About Ujjain Mahakaleshwar 

As mentioned in Puranas, the Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple or Mandir was established by Prajapita Brahma. The Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple rests on wooden pillars with high shikhara. Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is a three-storeyed building with the lowest middle and uppermost part installed with the lingams of Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwara, and Nagachandresvara. Nagachandresvara's glimpse can be seen on the Nag Panchmi. 

The Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga has beautiful architecture with intricate carvings dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga has a kunda inside, named Koti Tirtha made in sarvatobhadra style inside the temple complex. The Kunda and its water is treated as heavenly. Adjoining the stairs near Kunda there are many sculptural glory built during the Paramara period. 

Describing the Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, on the east side of Kunda, a large verandah is there where the entrance leads to garbhagriha. On the north side of Kunda, images of Sri Rama and goddess Avartika are worshipped. The best time to visit the Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is October to March as it has a cool atmosphere.
