ISKCON Kathwada History
This magnificent temple was built by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1997 to spread the teachings of ISKCON to the people of Ahmedabad. In the year 1996 the temple was inaugurated by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sir. For many years, people from all over the world visit the temple either to admire the architecture or to learn the visionary teachings of ISKCON.

The ISKCON Kathwada temple showcases our traditional Indian culture and a blend of Gujarat Sompura and Rajasthani Khamira style. The temple has a tall gopuram, or tower, at its entrance. The gopuram is decorated with intricate carvings of deities and mythological scenes. From the white marble floors at your feet to the majestic stone domes over your heads, people are left in awe with the architecture.

The ISKCON Boat Festival is a vibrant celebration at ISKCON Kathwada Temple. During this joyous occasion, the deities of Radha Krishna are adorned with beautiful attire and taken on a ceremonial boat ride. Devotees gather in large numbers to witness this spectacle. The boat ride features melodious kirtans, divine offerings, flowers and much more. The festival speaks about the unconditional devotion of Lord Krishna's devotees.
