Pedakakani Temple History

As per the legends, Sage Bharadwaja in his spiritual journey reached at this place. He made sankalp in performing a Yajna at same place and he invited various other sages. Yajna went great and in the end, they noticed that a crow was eating Havissu which was for the Yajna Karthas.

Sage Bharadwaja was disappointed with this and tried to stop the crow. Crow then told sage that his he was Kakasura who had a boon from Bhrama to eat Havissu. He was cursed to have this crow form.

Crow also told to perform the Abhishekham with the water from holy river and Panchamrutha. As requested Sage Bharadwaj performed the abhishekham and the crow attained his true form.
