Kumili Temple is located in the Kumili Village of Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There are other 12 temples in the complex which are dedicated to Kalika Devi, Suryanarayan Swami, Satyanarayan Swami, Dattatreya, Venkateswara swami, Anjaneya Swami, Ganpati, Sita Rama, Radha Krishna, Andalamma, Lakshmi Narsimha swami, Navgrahas. Kumili Temple is surrounded by the lush greenery from all sides. One can visit any day during the visiting hours.

History of Kumili Temple
Kumili is a village with historical significance as it was the once ruled by the Vizianagaram kingdom before moving to their actual Vizianagaram town. This temple is said to be built by Sri Animisha Bhagavan between 1933 - 1966. The deity of Kalika Devi is said to be brought from Kolkata. Other Deities were also brought from various parts of Country. It is believed that some of the temples in complex were built way before.

Architecture of Kumili Temple Complex
The Temple Complex is built in traditional South Indian Architecture. On the main gate there are wooden deities of various gods. After entering the temple you will see there is vast courtyard and main sanctum has Shivalinga. There are other 12 temples. Each temple is painted with different colorful theme. In the Kalyan Mandapam there are several deities of gods and goddess surrounding it. On the ceiling of the walls there are mural paintings depicting scenes from the Ramayana Epic.
You will be amazed by the fact that these temples has also housed the deity of Jesus Christ making it a significance of unity among locals.
Festivals @ Kumili Temple
Temple host various festivals but Maha Shivaratri has most significance. Thousands of devotees come here to seek the blessings of lord Shiva on that day.
Karthik Maas month also hold significance as this considered to be the holy time to worship lord shiva.

It is best to take your own vehicle to visit this temple.
Buses are available from Vizianagaram which is 16 km from Kumili.
Nearest Railway station is also Vizianagaram, other major station is Visakhapatnam which is 65 km.
